The 10th Anniversary MiSmile Conference & Gala wasn’t just another date in the diary, it was a milestone. Over 500 people came together to celebrate 10 years of MiSmile and 25 years of Dr. Sandeep Kumar‘s career in dentistry. For us at MiSmile Media, being part of that story was both a privilege and a moment of reflection.

The preparation: months in the making

From creative design and content planning to building our sponsor stand, so much thought and energy went into making sure MiSmile Media showed up in the right way. Our team worked behind the scenes to create visuals, experiences and interactive sponsor stand that felt true to our brand and meaningful for the community.

Meeting clients face-to-face

One of the biggest highlights for our team was meeting so many of our clients in person. We spend so much of our time working together online – managing campaigns, sharing strategies, creating content – but nothing compares to real conversations, shared laughter, and the buzz of the room. It reminded us of the relationships at the heart of what we do.

The Gala was also a chance to celebrate the incredible practices across the MiSmile Community. Awards were given to recognise outstanding performance, creativity, and commitment to patients. We had numerous clients spotlighted throughout the event including:

  • MiSmile Network Best Practice Manager: Marie Johnston – North Lakeland Dental
  • MiSmile Network Practice of the Year: MapleLeaf Dental
  • League Table Champion: MapleLeaf Dental
  • MiSmile Connect Commitment Champion: Dr Gurpreet Kaur – Spinney Brook Dental Practice
  • MiSmile Network Best Treatment Coordinator: Elisha Johnson – Dental Perfection (Highly Commended)

  • MiSmile Network Team of the Year: A1 Dental (Highly Commended)

For us, recognising these achievements was about more than just trophies. It was about shining a light on practices who embody the values of growth, innovation, and patient-first thinking that inspire our own work.

Learnings from the MiSmile Media team

Big events like the MiSmile Conference & Gala aren’t all about putting on a show, they’re about what you take away afterwards. For our team, a few lessons stood out:

  1. Preparation is everything. Months of planning went into the conference, from creative design to comms and logistics. It reminded us that the same principle applies in marketing, where campaigns don’t succeed by chance, they succeed because every detail has been thought through in advance.
  2. Presence matters. So much of our world happens online: ads, social, SEO. But being face-to-face with our clients and community was a powerful reminder of the trust that comes from real conversations. Marketing should create that same sense of presence: not just clicks, but connection.
  3. Consistency creates confidence. The conference was a 10-year milestone, but it was built on thousands of small, consistent actions over the years. That mirrors what we do with our clients. Growth doesn’t come from one “big push”, it comes from steady, joined-up effort across brand, content, and performance.
  4. Creativity is contagious. From the talks on stage to the energy at our stand, creativity inspired conversation. For us, it reinforced that marketing isn’t just about showing up, it’s about standing out. Bold ideas, expressed clearly, spark action.
  5. Community multiplies impact. Finally, the biggest takeaway was the power of community. The MiSmile Network isn’t just a collection of practices, it’s a group of people who push each other to grow. As a team, we left reminded that our role at MiSmile Media is to fuel that same spirit of collaboration in everything we do.

MiSmile Media: looking ahead

The Conference & Gala was a celebration of the last 10 years but it was also a launchpad into the next chapter. At MiSmile Media, we’re excited to keep helping practices grow through branding, marketing, and digital strategies that perform.
